packaging!!!

brand new day!!! Wednesday morning. i reached my office at 9.45 sharp and very soon was handed over work, regarding packaging.
the work was i had to design packaging cards for certain international wallet brands.....
now often people wonder what does a designer do when it comes to packing stuff. well, this goes to all you people who wonder...............packaging is one of the most important element of a product.

Some of the basic functions of packaging are:

1.PHYSICAL PROTECTION.
2.BARRIER PROTECTION -  against wind, dust , vapor etc.
3.INFORMATION TRANSMISSION - Packages and labels communicate how to use, transport, recycle, or dispose of the package or product.
4.MARKETING - the packaging and labels can be used by marketers to encourage potential buyers to purchase the product.
5.SECURITY - Packaging can play an important role in reducing the security risks of shipment.
6. CONVENIENCE -  Packages can have features that add convenience in distribution, handling, stacking, display, sale, opening, re closing, use, dispensing, and reuse.

I really found some very creative package design which you can be interested in:
