There is something that I really want to share with you guys today. Few days back I was browsing through the net and I found this awesome folk art of an African village. It is the wall decoration that adorns the homes of the Gurunsi people, an ethnic group inhabiting northern Ghana and southern Burkina Faso.
The women of this village paint their homes with elaborate geometric patterns. Some are purely for decoration purposes while some are for honoring the tombs of the dear and loved ones, who are buried within the village itself.
Rita Willaert visited this place in 2009 and shares her experience here. Her photographs are exquisite.
