Usually I'm a breakfast person but recently I have adopted a new diet.
This diet focuses more on the lunch and has two major meals during the day. Following this diet, I have lost my weight significantly from 55 kg to 50 kg in a month. I also do a 24-hour fasting once a week. My point being, my focus is on eating lunch and dinner only. Sometimes I take fruits and digestive biscuits as snacks. But that is all.
So, in this post, I would like to show you what I ate during my lunch all these times. I did not document an everyday lunch, but you will get an idea of what I ate all this while. I will also share recipes of many of the meals that I have shown here, in my next post.
Top left as you can see is Spaghetti. I love my Spaghetti. I have a whole post about it here.
Top right Roti (Indian flatbread), chicken curry and an orange.
Bottom left is a typical Bengali lunch. We have simple unsalted boiled rice, boiled okra (which is yummy by the way! and not gross!!), fried bitter gourd and fried Rohu fish. Yumm!
Bottom right, yes we have a okra and potato soup and I just lost my patience after peeling this cucumber! So, that's how I plate it.
Here we have Roti on top again and some eggplant curry. This curry is an Afghan recipe, learnt from a friend of mine. As you can see there's a bit more oil but tastes like heaven. You will not regret putting that extra spoonful of oil.
At the bottom, turmeric rice, pulses and papadums. Good for digestion.
Now that's a picture, I love to talk about. All my favorite food!
Top left we have khidchi with papadums. Khichdi is a rice and yellow mung bean porridge.
Top right, I made it yesterday. It is Persian rice with chicken curry. Absolutely loved it and I'm so proud of it.
Bottom left, is a bit simpler. We have Roti again with fried potato and broccoli and some salad.
Bottom right is an attempt to make a no-oil, boiled chicken and rice. I'm not proud of it and I can definitely make it better next time.
Now, this ones interesting.
Top left we have stuffed potato Paratha, egg poach and some homemade Bengali style french fries. This I would say is the least healthier version. On this day I did a 24-hr fasting. So, after this meal around 1 O' clock in the afternoon, I had nothing but water. I took meal again next day at the same time.
Top right, is again homemade french fries with less oil (not deep fried), Roti, a chilli to spice things up and coriander and mint chutney.
Bottom left, we have Roti, fried veggies, homemade pickle and fresh salad.
Bottom right, we have a variety. Lets start with Roti, barbequed mashed eggplant (I love this food item and it tastes simply out of the world. Let me know if anyone is interested in the recipe), homemade french fries, peas curry and some fresh cut salad.
First one, top left is really exciting, its egg Biryani and again I fasted after this. Basically, whenever I have something heavy, I do a 24-hr fast to makeup for all the calories.
Top right, is just some simple plain rice and red bean curry.
Now in the middle, we have a gorgeous fresh salad made with mangoes, beansprouts, tomatoes, cucumber and garnished with fresh crumbled homemade cheese. The full picture is in the bottom of the description.
Bottom left is one of the simplest food that I had in this month. Its plain salted rice porridge with Korean Kimchi (made at home).
Bottom right is Persian rice with some potato and chickpea curry.
My all time favorite mango salad :D |
P.S. It has been a while since I posted in my blog. I was taking a break from life to get certain things straight and get my sh*ts in order (if you know what I mean). I have been partially successful and definitely there's a lot more to work on, but I feel like I can never give up on writing and blogging, because I love it. I don't really earn anything now from it, but I love it all the same.
Do give a comment if you like it and please follow this blog!
See ya!
